Control Tactics and Survival Skills (CTSS) Level 2

Location - Red Deer County Station 1 Firehall, 37577 Rge Rd 272, Red Deer County
Date(s) - March 18 – 21st, 2019.
Times - 0800 – 1800hrs.
Cost - $350.00 per participant.
OVERVIEW
The CTSS Course is Solicitor General approved Use-of-Force training for Peace Officers and Security Professionals. The course content includes combat theory and mindset, use-of-force decision making, situational awareness, tactical communication, arrest procedure, tactical handcuffing, searching, tactical control principles and strategies, impact weapon (baton) use, weapon retention, knife defense, and ground fighting.
A course manual will be provided.

STRUCTURE
• lecture-discussion
• technique practice
• written exam
• practical exam

ASSESSMENT
In order to receive CTSS certification, participants must:
• pass the written exam with 80 % or higher
• demonstrate a high level of proficiency in all CTSS techniques

PREREQUISITE:
• Level 1 Community Peace Officer
• Level 2 Community Peace Officer
• Alberta Peace Officer
• Licenced Security Personnel

Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodations and lunches.
Preference will be given to current Officers who require the training for their position.
Payment instructions will be included in the email that is sent to participants after registering for the course.

Red Deer County reserves the right to refuse training any prospective participant. Payment instructions and joining instructions will be emailed to participants upon completion of the registration form.
