Re: Rod Lazenby News articles
The Fatality Inquiry into the death of Officer Rod Lazenby concluded on Wednesday [June 14, 2017] with submissions presented from the Crown Prosecutor, the Alberta Justice & Solicitor General Dept., Alberta Association of Community Peace Officers, the Alberta Municipal Enforcement Association and members of Officer Lazenby’s family.
The Alberta Association of Community Peace Officers key messages and recommendations throughout the Inquiry focused on the standardization of communication, training and tools within the Peace Officer program.
The judge will review all the evidence and recommendations and will submit his findings along with possible recommendations for review to the Minister. Please be patient during this time.
We look forward to the results of the Inquiry and will continue to work closely with the Justice & Solicitor General and Authorized Employers as an Association to ensure the continued safety of officers and success of the Peace Officer program. -Terri Miller, President, AACPO
