AACP Violence Link Training Opportunity - October 25, 2021

Post by Kevin_Heerema »

The Alberta Association of Chief's of Police (AACP) in partnership with the Calgary Police Service, Calgary Humane Society, Alberta Justice, Edmonton Police Service, and Madra Veterinary Ltd. is hosting Violence Link Training. Please see attached the poster with information and registration details for the upcoming AACP Violence Link Training which will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams Monday October 25, 2021 from 1300 to 1700 hours.

The half day training is designed to highlight the need for attention and response to animal cruelty. Animal abuse and neglect is often related to anti-social behaviors including domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse and other violent crimes. Police agencies have the authority and duty to respond to allegations of animal abuse and neglect and work with other agencies to conduct thorough investigations. It is our responsibility to recognize the link between animal abuse and other criminal acts, and integrate this knowledge into how we conduct investigations.

There is no cost to attend this event. Please register as soon as possible, at which time a virtual invitation will be sent to you.

On behalf of the AACP and our partner agencies, we look forward to seeing you at the training. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Please feel free to disseminate amongst our law enforcement partners.
