Emergency Vehicle Operations Course

Lac Ste. Anne County is hosting an EVO Course April 29-May 2, 2025.

We have been instructing this course in Alberta and Western Canada for the last 18 years. Emergency Vehicle Operations training is a key component in a Peace Officers training curriculum. This course will allow drivers to enhance their personal driving skills and find the safe operating limits of their patrol vehicles for Emergency Response situations. Students will learn about the physics of their vehicles, proper vehicle inspections, emergency braking techniques, cornering techniques, and Emergency Response principles in a controlled environment.

This course is comprised of 40 hours of instruction time plus and additional 4 hour Night Response Course that is an add on. This involves classroom presentations, development exercises as well as peer/instructor critique and a written examination.

Course Content will cover:
Introduction to Emergency Vehicle Operations
Legal Requirements
Vehicle Dynamics
Braking
Cornering
Driving Emergencies
Emergency Response Driving
Nighttime Response Driving

Class size is limited to 12 students as we have 13 Driving Exercises to complete. This course has been Accredited by the Training Academy, Alberta Accreditation number is A-20241115-0073.
