High Level, Alberta – At 11:09 p.m. on May 13, a Community Peace Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for travelling 119 km/h in a posted maximum 50 km/h zone.
The High Level RCMP attended and arrested the driver of the vehicle for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and he was transported to the High Level RCMP Detachment where he provided samples of his breath.
The 51 year old resident from Hay River, NT was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. His driver’s licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded.
The driver was also issued a mandatory court appearance for speeding, and faces further suspension and fines.
