Psychological Support Services Offered

Post by Kevin_Heerema »

Hello all,
We received the following information and offer of services from an individual that offers services catered to 1st responders.

Greetings Peace Officers & administrative professionals, I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing this email to you to introduce myself, my name is Sarah Mittelsteadt I am a Provisional Psychologist with Landry Psychology. I offer in-person psychological services in the Edmonton area, as well as virtually throughout Alberta. I am reaching out to you as I specialize in working with first responders, more specifically law enforcement officers. As a civilian I spent the past several years integrated in the Youth Diversion & Intervention Unit with Edmonton Police Service, as well as being the daughter of a first responder. With these experiences I can understand the difficulties associated with first responders accessing treatment or finding a therapist who understands their unique experiences as first responders & within first responder culture.

I treat a variety of issues, but to name a few:

· Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

· Depression

· Anxiety

· Trauma

· Sleep Issues

· Addictions

· Stress/Burnout

· Behavioural Issues

· Relationship Issues

· Couples Counselling

· Sexuality & Sexual Health

In my approach to treating individuals presenting concerns I use several evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused, Dialectical Behavioural Skills, Eye Motion Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and Canine Assisted Therapy. I also utilize a variety of other techniques in order to create an individualized treatment plan which best addresses the client's therapeutic goal. I currently direct bill to Blue Cross, Greenshield, & Medavive.

In addition to these services, I would be happy to provide free psychoeducational workshops to your office, topics I may be able to cover would include, stress management skills, anxiety management skills, communication skills, de-escalation skills, or healthy habits.

Should you feel that anyone in your office could benefit from any of my services or have any further questions, I would be happy to assist. I can be reached at:
