The County of Grande Prairie will be hosting a Dangerous Goods on Highway Inspector Course April 29 - May 1 2025

Course Overview:
The 3-day Dangerous Goods On-Highways Inspector training course is delivered at no-cost by Alberta Transportation’s Dangerous Goods and Rail Safety (DGRS) Section and provides understanding of the provincial and federal Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) legislation related to the road transportation of dangerous goods to maximize compliance in the field of TDG for law enforcement agencies in Alberta in support of the commitment to promoting public safety. The course consists of classroom learning (day 1 and 2) reinforced by hands-on practicum fieldwork (day 3).Successful candidates are designated as On-Highways Inspectors (OHI) for the purposes of the provincial TDG Act, and issued an OHI designation certificate. The course provides designated OHIs with the competence to evaluate compliance with TDG legislation when conducting roadside inspections and write tickets for infractions of TDG legislation.
