On June 29 and 30, 2016, Lacombe Police Service Community Peace Officer and Lacombe County Protective Services Community Peace Officers hosted a 2 day Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance check stop. The joint force traffic enforcement check stop was related
to the primary focus of commercial vehicle safety concerns. Agency Inspectors conducted Level 1 Commercial Vehicle
Safety inspections.

Law enforcement agencies attending the 2-Day check stop initiative included the following:
1. Lacombe Police Service – Traffic Services Community Peace Officer
2. Lacombe County Protective Services
3. City of Grande Prairie Enforcement Services
4. Red Deer County Patrol Division
5. Edmonton Police Service
6. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Branch
7. Town of Blackfalds Municipal Enforcement
8. Clearwater County Highway Patrol
9. Camrose County Protective Services
10. Alberta Transportation – Dangerous Goods and Rail Safety Branch
11. Alberta Solicitor General – Sheriff Branch

The 2-Day check stop initiative provided the following statistics:

Total number of inspections completed 81
Out of Service 24 (30%)
Required Attention 23 (28%)
Pass 34 (42%)
Number of violation tickets issued 22
Total number of defects 180
