RCMP & Bylaw Officers recover stolen car-Wetaskiwin

Post by Cody_Rossing »

For Immediate Release:

Wetaskiwin RCMP and local Bylaw Officer work together to recover stolen car and arrest the man responsible.

On June 22nd, 2016, shortly before 8:00 am, a local Bylaw Officer was conducting a traffic stop on a white van that had been speeding. The vehicle stopped near 38 Avenue and 53rd Street when the male driver, and loan occupant, exited the vehicle and ran from the scene. The Bylaw Officer called was able to provide police with a detailed description of the male.
The investigation determined that the white van had been stolen from Edmonton earlier that morning.
While RCMP were on their way to assist the Bylaw Officer, one of the Police officers was waved down by someone who advised them that civilians were holding down a male they believed had just tried to steal a vehicle. The Officer arrested the male, and was able to link him to the stolen van thanks to the Bylaw Officer.
Eighteen-year-old Delaney QUINN of Edmonton has been charged with possession of property over $5000 and failing to comply with conditions.
